COOKBOOKS

My Pick: Watkins and Betty Crocker Cookbooks
Cookbooks are a Good Investment.  Collectors are paying top dollar and that amount goes up a bit every year.

Two stand out as valuable to collect.  Betty crocker sold for around $7.99 in the late 60's and now you will be lucky to get the same book for under $40.

Watkins cookbooks were produced in a community where door to door selling was a way of life.  The cookbooks were often given to faithful customers of Watkins products, as a 'Thank You', by the salesman.  Those Free cookbooks have now become a collectors 'Good Investment'.  Little do those people selling them on Ebay realize they are being sold in Antique shops upwards of $30 to $75!

There are tons of old cookbooks available, but none that reminisces times past more then the Watkins or Betty Crocker cookbooks.

As an Old Folk myself, I did cook on an old wood cook-stove many years ago with my paternal grandmother.  I missed those days so much I went out and bought a wood cook stove exactly like my granny's and even used it a few times.  My husband had never eaten food prepared in a slow cooking wood heated oven.  He enjoyed it very much, but once I stopped missing the good old days, my stove became a glorified Watkins/Betty Crocker cook-book display rack!
Those of you who have these books will find they really are the catalyst for many of the recipes found in modern day books.  They came from an age of more simple times, less fuss and muss and good eating.  I use mine and suggest trying a few of the recipes yourself.

Ebay is an excellent place to shop for old cookbooks at very good prices.  We have dived into Ebay's thousands of books and found as many as possible for your viewing on this site.  Enjoy the hunt of the cook book you would like to have.  You may also use the search at the top of this page to narrow down the search of a particular book.

Antiques You May Only See On Ebay

Enjoy The Nostalgia Of Forgotten Memories by Taking A Walk Through The Countless Categories of Antiques People Are Offering Up On Ebay.

In case you didn't know it, most of the antiques that are on Ebay are being sold by private sellers who have no idea what their true value is on the open market.

It amazes me how many people could care less about what grandmas old cupboard and closet things are worth.    Nine times out of ten they end up at a thrift store where they get snatched up and earn the wise old owl that does know it's value, an extra $50.

LOOKING TO SEE WHAT ELSE IS A GOOD ITEM TO INVEST IN OR LOOK FOR TO RESELL?  Don't forget to search for items using 'misspelled' keywords. (kettle, kettel).  That is how you will find some of the best buys to add to your collections, or to resell.
